Ameristar Casino installs LED lights around facility

Casinos are known as destinations that provide an opportunity to get away from it all, often highlighted with the glitz and glamor seen on the Las Vegas Strip. However, the cost to operate the lights that illuminate some of the country’s most popular casinos can quickly add up.
In an effort to separate itself from other energy wasters, the Ameristar Casino recently installed LED lights around the facility to go green. The casino, located in St. Charles, Missouri, now has more than 16,000 LED lights in place to conserve energy.
“When you consider that the expected life of an LED bulb is 35,000 to 50,000 hours, bulb replacement labor shrinks dramatically,” said Tim Taylor, the CEO of Light Emitting Design. “In addition, since a typical 150 watt incandescent bulb can be replaced by a 35 watt LED bulb, the energy savings really begin to add up.”
The Ameristar Casino has found success through installing LED lights, which come in a wide variety of colors and illumination.
Many homeowners are turning to LED string lights, rope lights and bulbs for decorating purposes as well. Rope lights are the perfect solution to illuminating an outdoor space with their ability to withstand the elements.
