Atlanta Motor Speedway to use LED rope lights and string lights for holiday display

As more homeowners look to live a more sustainable lifestyle, people are turning to LED rope lights and string lights to deck the halls throughout the holiday season. These fixtures are more energy-efficient in comparison to incandescents, and can reduce utility costs over time.
After seeing what LED rope lights and string lights could do, the officials at the Atlanta Motor Speedway will be using these fixtures to create a holiday display this season, according to WhoWon.com. The Gift of Lights, which is a drive-through event held once the sun goes down, is set to kick off on November 18. LED lights will be used along a path that extends almost two miles.
Although it may seem like a lot of lights, these fixtures are expected to cost a fraction of what traditional incandescents would if they were utilized for the event. In total, organizers expect the Gift of Lights to cost no more than $750.
LED rope lights, string lights and bulbs come in numerous colors and are just as bright as incandescents. The main differences are that they have a longer lifespan and require less maintenance over time.
